- Weylyn's symptoms of brain cancer start to show up again the closer he gets to the full moon, this includes symptoms such as; headaches, confusion, difficulty with balance, seizures, vision problems, visual hallucinations, nausea, memory problems, and changes in emotional state (becomes more aggressive and irritable). These symptoms seem to disappear after the full moon as his body more or less seems to reset. Sometimes they come back faster and worse and sometimes they don't show up until a day or two before the full moon and aren't that severe. It varies.
- Weylyn doesn't fully believe he's a werecoyote all the time and the werecoyote part of him seems to operate as if it were a different person with entirely different motives, memories, and personality. It developed like this somewhat mysteriously.
- Knows Latin and is fluent in both English and Cajun French.
- Lives in a Cabin his father built deep in the woods on the outskirts of Granston.
- Seems to always be tapping his fingers against himself.
- More or less has a pet fox named Othello. She was originally an entirely wild fox, but after saving her from a steel jaw trap and rehabilitating her she tends to stick around.
- Spent the last couple years years in a mental institution, has since been released though he now has to go into the city once a month for check ups and therapy. They are also able to visit him at random which is definitely not his favorite thing.
- Weylyn is actually a pretty well known taxidermist in Easton county (his work is often sold, and he's also won a few contests) and is sometimes sought after for his services but he's hard to come into contact with so your best bet is to get into contact with a gentleman in town named Harvey who is Weylyn's uncle who owns the gas station in town. Harvey sometimes brings him groceries and supplies and is the only person in town with Weylyn's phone number.
- He has not once in his life experienced romantic or sexual attraction to somebody, though that isn't to say he's incapable of these things.
- He would rather eat a hot coal than tell you what his middle name is.
- Weylyn has a flip phone.
- He believes in God, but he resents him entirely. He doesn't really talk to anybody in town about that, though.
- Weylyn was shot in the left shoulder as a teenager and thus doesn't have the best mobility there, but he doesn't seem hindered by it at all anymore. He has a scar there that shows up in every form. In his human and crinos form he also has the scar on his hand from where he was bitten, though it doesn't show up in his feral form.
- His hallucinations tend to be water based.
- While his eye color is listed as blue, there is some brown in his eyes as well which due to contrast can make his eyes look different colors depending on the lighting.
- Has a red 1995 ford f150

PERSONALITY
Weylyn is a man struggling with a lot of internal issues ranging from being autistic in a judgemental neurotypical town, grappling with the complexities of God and the afterlife, being told you are something that you still only sometimes believe might be true, oh and the whole immortalized brain cancer thing. These things make his mood a very complex organism with many facets depending on the day you're looking at him. For the most part, how friendly he comes off fully depends on if you came onto his property or you met him in town. In town, he's not exactly conversational but he isn't rude or the slightest bit mean. He is polite and keeps to his own space, almost seeming like there is some sort of barrier around him when he's navigating being around people. He will entertain some small talk but it's not his favorite, but get him going on something he knows about or cares about and he can talk for awhile though he often cuts himself off and apologizes before moving on.
If you wander onto his property though he is suspicious, and can even seem mouthy and rude off the bat. It's clear he doesn't trust people in his territory and he will meet you with a shot gun if he doesn't know you. Though he doesn't really have it in him to pull the trigger, at least probably not. If somebody is really truly lost and it's getting dark he will temporarily let them sleep in his house until he can take them back to town in the morning. He knows that the forest can really be hard to navigate for people who haven't lived in it their entire life. Despite all of the darkness in his life, he still manages to be a kind person even when he least wants to be. Though, that isn't to say if somebody does sleep over he isn't staying up all night because he doesn't trust like that.
His mental stability depends on the current state of the cancel cells in his brain that get burned away when he shifts into his werecoyote form and rapidly regrow during the rest of the month spent human. At the start of the month he is as clear as he can be and as much himself as ever. But as time goes on he becomes more irritable or less responsive. He becomes confused and struggles with remembering things. He is not always lucid and aware and has trouble with vision, motor skills, has hallucinations, etc. He even has trouble with his motor skills and balance sometimes. It seems the tumors don't always grow back the same way and sometimes don't grew as rapidly as last time so some months are better than others. Due to getting confirmation on this being what is happening while he was institutionalized he now is convinced he's going to die of brain cancer just like his father, especially as treatment doesn't seem to be possible as werecoyote. He's just not sure when it's going to happen, when it's going to redevelop quickly enough to kill him.
There are many layers of protection to Weylyn, created and he keeps them tightly wrapped around his chest. His intention is to not let anybody in, keep to himself, and he will never have to hurt again. He doesn't understand people, so why should he bother with them? He's a dead man either way. So nothing really matters. This feeling alone has driven him to become extremely self sufficient and so rarely does he need anything from the outside world, even though the outside world keeps trying to pull him out of where he's safe. Out of what he knows.
The Coyote in particular doesn't like it. The coyote is a creature of instinct, as much a coyote as one can be. He is quick to run from danger bigger than himself, he's sneaky, he's intelligent. But if he feels backed into a corner or like you are disturbing his territory he will attack you if he needs to. The coyote seems to be more or less a manifestation of the fight or flight instinct. And he's ready to do either at any point.

HISTORY
The son of a small town preacher and a highly religious Cajun woman, Weylyn was always deeply entrenched in religion and community. His parents were very involved in Granston, his father preaching at a church there and his mother working at the post office. They both knew everybody and everybody knew them. Weylyn was always a little weird in regards to this, struggling to remember faces which most people chalked up to his lack of eye contact and how little he engaged in conversation. They lived in the forest, a bit of a ways out if you walk but only about a 20 minute drive out. Their home was a cabin that his father had built, nothing special just a small two bedroom cabin filled with crosses and Christian imagery throughout.
Growing up he always had a bit of a troubling relationship with his peers, prone to being bullied. He had very few friends, which he seemed fine with for the most part. He was still forced to be part of all his parents going ons. He was actively part of the Church, he was often hanging out studying in the post office while his mom was at work. Since he didn't really have a good relationship with his peers, and his father always felt like there was a bit of a distance in their relationship, he often sought comfort from his mom who was probably his best friend. He would say she was his only friend but that would be ignoring the dog they had at this time named Charlie.
Around when highschool started, his dad suddenly began to aggressively push for him to be more sociable. His dad more or less did that thing where he thought his behavior was fine when he was a child but now that he was a teenager he was just very suddenly expected to be better all of a sudden. He just expected whatever was up with him to just no longer be an issue. So he just tried his best to change, try his best to fit in so he didn't get scolded. So he became more involved with his peers, joining school clubs he didn't have any interest in, including the track team which he was especially not interested in. But it got his father off his back, and he made friends.
At almost about the end of highschool, people started to go missing in the forest their cabin was in. At first it was one or two teenagers people thought just got lost, but then while looking for them a small group that had broken off as part of the search team also went missing. Some people started to believe in some sort of forest dwelling demon who was taking them. Some believed it was simply a pack of wolves that must have wandered in or maybe a mountain lion. But the father of one of the missing teenagers thought it was Weylyn's mom specifically. Why? She was an outsider. She wasn't from here. She had an accent. She wasn't one of them. It didn't matter to him that she had been there and actively part of the community for twenty-five years it didn't matter. It didn't matter she was married to one of the most respected preachers in town. She was weird, and she had a weird kid. He thought there was something up with her,t hat she maybe sacrificed their townsfolk or something. When he started talking about how evil she must be and that what happened was her fault, nobody defended her. They simply didn't say anything and let him go off. Maybe it was something they all somewhat believed, who knows.
One night while Weylyn was in his room studying he heard this man knocking on the door and his mom answer. They got into a pretty heated argument of hum accusing her and her saying that he knows her, he knows she didn't do this. He kept insisting she just admit to whatever it was that she did and she maintained her innocence as she hadn't done anything. Weylyn heard the fight began to escalate and he got up and opened the door to throw him out when a gunshot went off and he watched his mom drop. In the moment he hadn't even felt the blood splatter against him, he was in shock. Apparently while the man had come with a gun, he hadn't intended to actually shoot her let alone kill her. He began panicking in in his panic decided his only option was to also shoot Weylyn so there were no witnesses. This quickly turned into a fight that left Weylyn shot in the shoulder and the guy being knocked out. He had never wanted to kill somebody in his life, but he had to stop himself from killing this man as he lay beneath him unconscious. But he couldn't bring himself to do it. He called the police using his mom's phone, and sat outside on the porch while waiting for them since he couldn't continue looking at his mother's corpse on the floor.
His mother was buried on their property, and his father was certainly not the same after that. They were soulmates and he just couldn't recover from the loss. The man who had done this was put in prison, and Weylyn had to start going to physical therapy in the city after healing. Weylyn initially intended to go to college to become a veterinarian, but that no longer interested him so at the end of highschool he just got a job at his uncle's gas station while he stayed there for his dad. Time seemed to pass quickly because he wasn't really doing anything. He was getting really good at hunting and taxidermy in his free time.
Eventually, his father started to change. He was getting sick, and his preaching became much more... unhinged than it used to be. He was learning very far into religion, and Weylyn was trying desperately to get him to go to a doctor. He finally got him to go but just to find out what was wrong with him. They found out he had a pretty serious brain tumor, quickly diagnosed with stage three brain cancer. His father despite his diagnosis decided that instead of pursuing any sort of treatment that he was simply going to pray it away. And apparently, the community agreed. Weylyn was struggling with his faith during this time, and didn't believe in God at all in this moment. He tried everything to get him to change his mind but his dad had already made his choice. So he tried his best to appease him.
It didn't take long before it developed to stage four and living with him was becoming hard to manage. On bad days he couldn't get out of bed because of how dizzy and disoriented he was and would just lay there calling for his wife and or yelling at Weylyn. On good days he spent all of his time at church, insisting Weylyn come with him. When he died, he died in his bed. Weylyn found him, but it didn't give him the same feeling as watching his mother get murdered. He dealt with that, but his feelings developed to believe in God again, but he decided he hated God. A god that can do this wasn't a God worth liking. Some people in his community had told him that the reason his dad didn't get better was because his son didn't show up to pray for him as much as he should have. He had never admitted to any of them his lack of faith at the time, and he likely never will considering the type of community it was.
He began to alienate himself from his community a bit. He wouldn't talk to people more than he had to, and he didn't leave his land as much as he used to. Those in town saw him less and less. He had quit his job at the gas station and instead started selling pelts and taxidermy to afford what he needed such as installing solar power on his cabin as as well as gas for generators should he need them. Because of his beginning so socially outcast himself, people didn't really notice he was beginning to display symptoms of the same brain cancer that took his dad.
One day when he was going on a long walk through the woods which was something he did somewhat often to clear out any trash or debris, he came across a coyote caught in a steel-jaw trap. He carefully approached him and tried to get him out. In his fear, the coyote bit him on the hand but he didn't really hold it against him. He was scared and in pain. He got him out and he ran off. He tried to find him since he was pretty badly injured but coyotes are fast and sneaky so he just went back home.
He wrapped the hand wound and went to the doctors office in town to get a rabies shot just in case and went home without thinking that much of it. He had a few sweaty nights and then his life seemed to go back to normal. Well, more or less. He began to notice the symptoms from himself. He started to notice they got really bad as the month went on and then seemed to restart. He went to the doctor when he personally noticed it and got a brain scan on a day he felt perfectly fine but nothing was found. He went back home and things only got worse. There were a lot of animal attacks in the woods happening. Like a lot. Weylyn was a little suspicious that it might be the doing of that coyote he had saved. Maybe he was still injured and scared so he's been attacking anybody who came to close. He tried to find him, and saw a lot of evidence of a coyote but couldn't find him. He did notice there were a lot of tracks by his house, but there was still no coyote to show for it. He did find a young fox, though, who he saved and rehabilitated who decided to sticka round him. He named her Othello.
His uncle Harvey began visiting more to help him out a bit as he became to become more of a hermit. His uncle began to also notice he was behaving strangely at times but fine other times. There was nothing wrong, though. He didn't have a brain tumor, so perhaps he was just becoming mentally ill in his seclusion so he tried to visit him more to see if that helped but it just didn't. He continued to get worse and on top of everything he was driving himself crazy over finding this animal that was attacking people before they found them. Not to mention he was now scared that people in town were going to start blaming him like they had his mom, because he was weird. He was different. He was other.
Something just snapped in him very suddenly and Weylyn just stopped responding to pretty much anything, he didn't respond to his uncle when he came to check on him. He wasn't reacting to really anything he said really, though a couple of times he just repeated the question back to him. He looked entirely spaced out. His uncle decided to get him evaluated. The evaluation clearly didn't go well, as he was institutionalized soon after. His uncle became his power of attorney. He was in a pretty good place at first where he was diagnosed with autism finally, something that really did make a lot of himself make sense, but then they started to notice more... supernatural elements about him. So they moved him discreetly to another facility made his kind though not publicly.
There he was not treated as well. In fact, he was actually somewhat experimented on. They seemed less interested in actually helping him and more interested in learning about him. This was the first time somebody proposed to him that he was a werecoyote, something he denied immediately. He couldn't possibly be something that doesn't exist. But then he saw a lot in where he was, so maybe werecoyotes existed but he certainly wasn't one of them. He was just some autistic dude in the woods, not a coyote. He was there for a couple of years despite starting to improve after about a year of being initially institutionalized.
When he got out, his uncle picked him up and took him back to his house originally but Weylyn insisted he go back to his cabin, as he felt that was where he belonged. And that's where he's been since. He only really comes into town maybe once a month, he goes into the city once a month as well. He is now a registered werecoyote but nobody in town seems to know that. He's still struggling, and in fact feels like he shouldn't have been let out but was miserable there so he's not about to try and go back. He doesn't feel stable, but he's trying to manage the best he can.
